The Islamic Games in Baku, the high cost of food, the problem with cash, and suicides are the leading topics of today's press.

The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the forthcoming Islamic Games in Baku, which will demonstrate the unity of the Islamic world. This is also regarded by the author as a confirmation of the international authority of Azerbaijan. In addition, the Islamic Games will serve to strengthen ties between Islamic countries.

Echo has published an article titled Food Prices in Azerbaijan Growing Steadily. The big problem is that today there are huge margins on food products, so government intervention is necessary. At the same time, the population's spending on the purchase of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by only 0.5% compared to January-February 2016, and by 2.3% for non-food products. Moreover, food products, beverages and tobacco products accounted for 50.7% of consumer spending in the retail network.

The newspaper Yeni Musavat writes about the problem of withdrawing money from banks, that is, about the problem of cash.

The author reminds of the entry into force of the law on non-cash payment from April 1. The decrease in the money supply in circulation practically killed the settlement system. If this continues, then the country can approach such a calculation system as barter.

Novoye Vremya publishes a report on the wave of suicides that swept the country. Over the past few days, there have been more than a dozen suicides. In the country, teenage suicide has spread, and a series of suicides of schoolchildren is evidence of that.
