Prosecutor Offers to Condemn Faraj Kerimli to 7.5 Years
The prosecutor spoke in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes at the trial of the deputy chairman of the party Musavat Faraj Kerimli. He proposed to deprive the defendant of liberty for a term of 7.5 years.
The lawyer Nemat Karimli told Turan the prosecutor’s speech was unreasonable, as Kerimli’s guilt was not proven.
The case against Kerimli was fabricated. The court did not question witnesses for the defense and rejected all the petitions.
The speeches of the lawyer and Kerimli himself are scheduled for May 6.
* The brothers Siraj and Faraj Kerimli were arrested on 17 and 23 July 2014 on charges of drug possession.
On August 18, 2014 Amnesty International announced Faraj and Siraj Kerimli prisoners of conscience.
On March 12 the court sentenced Siraj Kerimli to 6 years in prison. -06D-
