Prosecutors Return Materials on Cases sent by Intigam Aliyev to European Court
The General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan returned the materials seized during a search of the office of Intigam Aliyev relating to cases of citizens in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Turan was told by the lawyer Javad Javadov.
On Saturday, he was invited to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, where he was handed over all the documents relating ECHR. The lawyer was handed three bags of materials that were transferred to Aliyev’s family.
The issue of withdrawal of these materials was raised last week at a meeting of the Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Mujzhnieks with the Attorney General Garalov.
The Counsel however, expressed concern about the health of Aliyev, who had his legs paralyzed in the court, and he was taken to jail.
According to the relatives, currently Aliyev is in the cell under the supervision of doctors.
* Intigam Aliyev was arrested Aug. 8 on charges of tax evasion, abuse of office and illegal business activities.
Aliyev denies the charges and said they are politically motivated. He is recognized by Amnesty International as «prisoner of conscience.”
The true reason for his arrest is the protection of the rights of citizens in the European Court. -16D-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
