Protection is concerned with the ban on meetings and telephone conversations of F.Ahmadli with his family
Fuad Ahmadli, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) kept in the Baku prison N1, has been deprived of the right to meetings and telephone conversations with his family. Such a ban was imposed by the investigator. Protection considers the ban unjustified and is taking steps to address this limitation, the lawyer Asabali Mustafayev told Turan. Ahmadli is charged with Article 302.1 (violation of the law on operational-search activities) and 308.2 (abuse of powers) of the Criminal Code. The lawyer expressed surprise at the fact how an operator in the company of "Azerfon" can abuse power? The lawyer said that before the arrest of Ahmadli by the employees of the State Security Service three other people were arrested, and allegedly an activist handed one of them some information.
"Fuad Ahmadli does not know these people, and does not with any contact with them. After the financial director of the newspaper "Azadlig" Faig Amirov was arrested Ahmadli case of Ahmadli was allocated in a separate proceeding from the case of the three persons. Ahmadli was transferred to the Kurdakhani jail This also has moments of concern, since new charges can be put forward against Ahmadli, said Mustafayev. Ahmadli was arrested on August 18.
In the evening on August 19 the Government Security Service and Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan issued a joint statement in connection with Ahmadli business. The press release reported that Ahmadli was charged with dissemination of personal data of subscribers of "Azerfon" mobile communication company where he worked. Ahmadli is charged with violation of the legislation on operative-investigative activity and abuse of office. According to law enforcement officials, during a search in the apartment of Ahmadli was found a religious literature and CD-disks, prohibited by legislation, and leaflets with the speech of Gülen. On August 23, law enforcement authorities said the merger of Ahmadli’s case with the case of another activist of PPFA Faig Amirov, also suspected of collaboration with the Gulen organization.
The PFPA rejected these accusations and called them fabricated for political motives.—06d--

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
