Protest rally against election results in Oguz
Baku / 25.12.19 / Turan: About 100 residents of the village of Boyuk Soyudlu of the Oguz region held a protest rally in front of the local municipality on December 25, expressing dissatisfaction with the announced results of the municipal elections on December 23.
Residents protest against re-election as head of the municipal council Murvat Karimov, and complain that Kerimov is selling land to strangers.
The villagers say they did not vote for Kerimov and were surprised at his election. According to them, he was elected by fraud, and on election day people who arrived in the village from the district center threatened with dissenting arrests.
Protesters said they complained about the CEC hotline, but in vain.
Karimov himself told Turan that the elections were not held by the municipality, and if someone is not satisfied with the results, then he can turn to the district election commission and the CEC.
The head of the District Electoral Commission of the Oguz-Gabala district, Rasul Jafarov, refused to answer questions by telephone and offered to come to the commission.
It was not possible to get comments from the CEC. –21D-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
