Protesting entrepreneurs dispersed in Imishli
Last Saturday, the police prevented a protest in front of the Executive Power of Imishli staged by local entrepreneurs.
The participants tried to express dissatisfaction with the construction of walls along the road in Imishli. These walls have blocked access to shopping and public welfare facilities.
During the dispersal of the rally, the police detained the regional correspondent for Bakunews.tv Mehman Mammadov, who tried to shoot the action on video. He was later released.
The district administration is not willing to make concessions, arguing that the walls are built for improvement and traffic safety.
Construction of walls has been in vogue all over the place since the first multi-kilometer stone walls were constructed along the route of Baku airport. The creators of the venture try to use these walls to hide the unsightly Azerbaijani reality: shabby buildings, roads and contaminated areas.
Construction of walls is also a profitable development of public funds by officials under the guise of improvement.
The region has its own peculiarities and the walls disable some entrepreneurs and open the way to others, patronized by local authorities.
At each change of the head of the district executive, projects for improvement and extrusion of business unfold with a bang.
It was in the Neftchala region, where most recently disgruntled residents burned the car of the architect of the district, which under the guise of improvement planned to demolish the clothing market. After the incident, the architect was fired, and the local authorities canceled their plan. -0 -
