Religious Slogans Appear in Nardaran Again
On February 29 on a street in the village of Nardaran (30 km from Baku) religious slogans appeared again after they were erased in the November police operation against the Islamists.
The elder of Nardaran Hajiagha Nuri, commenting on the incident for Turan IA, called the inscription a "provocation". "We appealed to the security forces. I think it was done by someone not from the village," he said.
According to Nuri, after the incident, police detained about 30 people, of whom 10 were arrested administratively, and the rest were released on the evening of 1 March.
Recall that a state of emergency in Nardaran was introduced after the operation of the security forces on November 26, 2015. Then, during the confrontation, two policemen and four civilians were killed. During the operation, Taleh Bagirzadeh, Chairman of the movement Muslim Unity, and a large group of his supporters were arrested.
In total, criminal charges were brought against 68 members of this organization on charges of terrorism and attempting to seize power.
At the same time, the President issued a decree on construction and arrangement works in Nardaran. -05B04-
