Remains of presumably Azerbaijani servicemen found on Farrukh height
Baku/31.03.22/Turan: Work on identification and exhumation of the graves of Azerbaijani citizens missing during the First Karabakh War is underway in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
As part of these activities, the remains of several people were found on March 28, 2022 on the Farrukh height, Khojaly region, the Azerbaijani State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons said in a statement.
In the early 90s, fierce battles swept that hill, and it is assumed that the remains found belong to the dead Azerbaijani soldiers. They will soon be handed over to the competent authorities for expert analysis.
The Commission states that 62 Azerbaijani servicemen disappeared during those battles for Farrukh. Another 46 people went missing in the battles near the village of Pirlar (Khramort) near the Farrukh height. Furthermore, 11 people are missing in the village of Aliagali, north of Farrukh.
Given the possible location of mass graves on the Farrukh height and the surrounding area, search operations and exhumations are planned.-06B-
