Representatives of the Ombudsman visited Bayram Mamedov
Baku/05.04.19/Turan: On Friday, the staff of the ombudsman"s office visited the youth activist Bayram Mammadov in the detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had reported the day before about torture and inhuman treatment after his arrest.
The message of the ombudsman"s office does not state the results of the verification of the activist"s complaints, but it is reported that the results will be sent to the relevant state bodies.
Bayram Mammadov was arrested for 30 days on March 29 on charges of insubordination to the police. The arrest took place two weeks after Mammadov was pardoned by the head of state. He was serving a 10-year term on charges of drug trafficking, but the real reason is writing political slogans on the pedestal of Heydar Aliyev"s monument. -05B-
