Search at Journalist Islam Shikhaliyev"s Apartment
On Saturday around 17:00 employees of the Investigation Department for Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office raided the rented apartment of the journalist Islam Shikhali, who works with Radio Azadlyg. The journalist was absent during the search of the apartment.
The search lasted more than 3 hours. Representatives of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime MIA came together with the staff of the Prosecutor's Office before the search. However, they left, when the search began.
"During the search there was my friend Orkhan Rustamzadeh. They confiscated all the equipment associated with shooting - a computer, a camera, a tripod, a microphone, memory cards, a mobile phone and documents. The rest of my things, clothes and stuff, were scattered around the room," Shikhali told Turan.
The colleague and friend of Shikhaliyev, Orkhan Rustamzadeh was taken and questioned in the Prosecutor's Office about the activities of Meydan TV, the Mingachevir events, and Shikhali's job. They told him to tell Shikhali
about the need to come to the Investigation Department for Grave Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office on September 28 at 10.00.
