General Major Shahin Mammadov has been appointed a new commander of the Internal Troops of Azerbaijan. According to the press service of the military forces, on Saturday the new commander was presented to the personnel. Until now, he was the first deputy chief of staff of military forces. He was awarded the title of General on 9 March, 2011.
The post of commander of the military forces has been vacant since late October after the appointment Zakir Hasanov as the Minister of Defense.-03D-
