Statistics of adoption in Azerbaijan
The Ministry of Justice published the statistics of the adoption of children in 2005-2013.
So, in 2005, 803 children were adopted and in 2013, there were 961. Most of all adopted are children under a year old. In 2005, there were 134 (65 girls and 64 boys).
In 2013, 204 children were adopted up to a year old (girls and boys equally).
In 2005, 324 children were adopted under the age of 5 years (138 girls), and in 2013 - 429 (198 of them girls).
At the age of 6 to 10 years old in 2005 there were adopted 198 children (97 of whom were girls), and in 2013 - 183 (81 girls).
The downward trend is observed in the adoption of children from 11 to 17 years. If in 2005 there were adopted 147 children (65 girls), in 2013 there were 145 (51 girls).
There are also statistics of annulment of adoption decisions, with the growth trend.
In 2005 there were abolished 56 decisions on adoption, and in 2013 there were 60. For the most part, revocation applies to children between 11 and 17 years old.
