Baku/03.01.21/Turan: The Main Department for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan has completed a preliminary investigation against the founder and director of BMS AQRO LLC Mubariz Balakishiyev, accused of misappropriation and abuse of office.
Balakishiyev is charged with the misappropriation of 2 million 212 thousand manats, allocated by OJSC "Agroleasing" to the company he heads under a contract on a tender basis for purchases.
He was charged under the Article 179.2 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement with damage on a large scale) and 308.2 (abuse of office, entailing grave consequences).
During the preliminary investigation, part of the damage caused was secured. -05D06-

Military expert and regular on state television channels, Adalat Verdiyev, has been accused of a serious crime—disclosure of military secrets. According to the charge (Article 308 of the Criminal Code), if the accused can prove the disclosure was unintentional, they may face 3 to 7 years in prison. Under aggravating circumstances, the sentence could range from 4 to 8 years.
