The consideration of Fuad Ahmedlis appeal
Baku / 27.09.18 / Turan: Under the chairmanship of Sahibkhan Mirzoyev, the judge of the Baku Appeals Court, a preliminary meeting was held on the complaint of Fuad Ahmadli, member of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA). The complaint is related to the refusal by the court of first instance to release Akhmedli provisionally in connection with the serving of one third of the term of punishment. At the trial, it turned out that Ahmadli did not have a lawyer.
According to the father of the activist Zafar Ahmadi, his son"s lawyer Asabali Mustafayev was suspended from work for a period of one year. "My son was left without protection. For this reason, the judges decided to appoint my son a lawyer at the state expense," Zafar Ahmedli said.
Earlier, on July 20, the Surakhani district court did not satisfy Ahmedli's request for the release on parole due to serving one third of the sentence.
Fuad Ahmadli was arrested on August 17, 2018 on the far-fetched charge of "violating the provisions of the law on operative-search activity", in particular, the distribution of personal data of users of mobile communications "Azerfon". In addition, he was accused of abuse of office. On June 16, Ahmedli, in 2017, was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. On August 17, the appellate court upheld the verdict. Ahmedli is recognized as a political prisoner.-03B06-
