The court leaves Mammad Bayramov and Giyas Ibrahimov in custody
Baku Khatai District Court today rejected a motion to change the arrest of youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov to house arrest, said the lawyer Elchin Sadigov. The young people are accused of drug trafficking. They deny the charge and say that they were arrested for the graffiti made on the monument to Heydar Aliyev. The lawyer described the refusal unjustified and the decision of the judge Bakhtiyar Mammadov will be appealed, and further the protection will apply to the European Court of Human Rights in connection with the illegal arrest and torture of activists. According to Sadigov, in protest against the non-investigation of cases of torture, Mammadov yesterday announced a hunger strike. He will protests also the statement of the Ombudsman aimed at concealing the fact of tortures.-03B06-
