The Court of Appeal did not release Ilkhamiz Guliyev
Baku/14.12.23/Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal has considered a complaint against the arrest of activist Ilhamiz Guliyev, who is accused of large-scale drug trafficking. According to lawyer Zibeida Sadigova, Guliyev denies the charge against him. He stated that he was not involved in drug trafficking, and the drugs were planted on him after his arrest. The complaint was not satisfied.
Guliyev was detained on December 4, and on the 6th he was detained for 4 months for a large-scale drug trafficking. According to human rights activists, the real reason for Guliyev's arrest was his interview with “Abzas Media,” in which he stated that the police use undocumented drugs to falsify criminal cases. Guliyev was introduced in the interview as a former police officer. In the past, he was an unofficial assistant to a police investigator.
Guliyev was detained on December 4, and on December 6 the court arrested him for 4 months on charges of large-scale drug trafficking.-06B-
