The first attempt to use "shahid belt" in Azerbaijan
On Saturday the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan reported killing a terrorist in Baku, reads the news release of the public relations center of SSS.
According to the report, as a result of search operations conducted by the SSS it was established that a citizen of Azerbaijan Jami Emin Azizaga oglu, born in 1978, previously convicted for active participation in a terrorist organization Naif al-Badawi, nicknamed 'Abu Jafar' (citizen of Saudi Arabia, was accused of having links to terrorist organizations, "al-Qaeda" and "Al-Jihad") neutralized in 2007, freed from prison this year, and again tried to show allegiance to the representatives of international terrorist organizations.
He planned to commit terrorist and subversive acts on the territory of Azerbaijan, using firearms and explosive devices. On the morning of December 3 near the shopping center "Bina" was conducted operative event for the detention of Emin Jami. During the arrest he resisted and tried to blow up the "shahid belt" on him, but was destroyed by the security forces. This is the first attempt to use the "shahid belt" in Azerbaijan. Over the past month and a half were destroyed at least four suspected terrorists. So, two terrorists were killed and another was detained in the course of special operation on October 26-27. Another terrorist was killed on November 25 in a special operation by the SSS in the village of Duztahiroba located near the border with Russia.-06D--

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
