The Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) announces the names of judges who violate the law

Since 2004, the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) monitors the judicial system in Azerbaijan, publishes in the media analysis of various trials with expert commentaries on the conformity of the trial and the verdict with national legislation and international law,  in particular the European Convention on Human Rights.

"Long-term monitoring is the evidence of total and absolute dependence of the judiciary from the executive. In Azerbaijan, there is no independent judiciary, the undeniable fact is the basis of criminal and corrupt regime established in the country," reads the press release of the IPD.

Since 2007, IPD foresaw a ceremony of  "awarding" committing particularly serious violations of laws and regulations, the so-called "striped robes."

IPD annually nominates for "striped robe" from 12 to 25 judges. Certainly, the number of "decent" in Azerbaijan is much more.  These are the names of the judges, nominated for “striped robe” on the results  2012. On 25 January IPD will hold a presentation on the matter.
