The next municipal elections are scheduled for December 23
The next municipal elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for December 23, 2014. This decision has been adopted today by the CEC of Azerbaijan.
According to Mazahir Panahov, the head of the Central Election Commission, since the previous elections, the number of municipalities reduced to 1607 as a result of mergers.
The CEC also approved calendar plan of major actions and activities for preparation and holding of municipal elections.
According to the plan, the election results should be announced before January 17, 2015
Municipalities were created in Azerbaijan in 1999. These are the fourth elections.—06D--
