The number of judges in Azerbaijan will be increased by one third
Baku / 13.06.19 / Turan: Azerbaijan lags far behind the European average indices on the number of judges. Thus, for every 100,000 people in Azerbaijan, there are six judges, which is by three times less than the average indices in the European countries, Deputy Minister of Justice Togrul Musayev said today at the Azerbaijan-EU business forum.
According to him, there are currently 600 judges of general and specialized courts of all instances in Azerbaijan. The lack of judges makes access to the courts more difficult, Musayev said. In this regard, in the near future it is planned to increase the number of judges by 200 - up to 800 people. This is provided for by the decree "On deepening reforms in the judicial-legal system" recently signed by the President of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister of Justice recalled. -06D--
