The pressure on families of convicted believers increased
Baku/16.02.18/Turan: "Committee to Protect the Rights of Arrested Believers" held public hearings on the protection of the rights of convicted believers. The head of the committee, chairman of the Union of Intelligentsia of Azerbaijan, Eldaniz Guliyev, has recently stressed the pressure on arrested believers and their families. It was noted that in the current of 160 political prisoners more than 100 are believers. The pressure on family members of believers is in order to prevent their social activity. It was also noted that the courts, by their not fair decisions, only push the desperate citizens to illegal actions.
The thought that the salvation of believers and society as a whole is in the reign of democratic values in the country sounded like a refrain. Participants in the discussions decided to intensify the work on informing the public about unwarranted repression of believers. It was also decided to increase the attention of the families of the arrested believers and support them. -05D-
