The protracted case of Shiraliyev will be considered on April 24
Baku / 18.04.18 / Turan: The Ganja Court of Appeal during the April 17 decided to review the case of editor-in-chief 7gun.az Javid Shiraliyev on April 24. The case is examined on the basis of the decision of the Supreme Court, which partially granted the defense's request for Shiraliyev's innocence. At the last appellate court, the certificate of the mobile operator Bakcel was announced, that there were no telephone contacts between Shiraliyev and the "injured" Shafiga Khankishieva, contrary to her statements. At the next meeting on April 24, witness Asif Orujov will speak. Protection of Shiraliyev notes that the Ganja Court of Appeal has been considering his case for six months and found no evidence of his guilt. Despite this, Shiraliyev continues to serve his sentence in places of deprivation of liberty.
It should be reminded that the editor of the news portal www.7gun.az Javid Shiraliyev was sentenced on May 22, 2016 to 5 years of imprisonment by the Grave Crimes Court of Gandja City on charges of extortion by threats (articles 182.2.1 and 182.2.4 of the Criminal Code.) Shiraliyev was detained by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on August 30, 2014 and taken to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC). He was accused that, in collusion with Asif Akif Oglu Orujov in June 2013, he extorted 2,000 manat from Shafiga Khankishiyeva, threatening to spread compromising material about her cafe in the village of Govlar in the Tovuz region. -0--
