The reason for the smoke in the Baku Metro was a short circuit in the electrical wires
In the evening on Wednesday there was smoke in Baku subway. In connection with this, the movement of trains was stopped for a short time. Several passengers became ill, and medical aid was provided to them on the spot.
The smoke started at about 8 pm (7 pm) at the station on May 28. "Smoke began to spread from the tunnel from the station "Ganjlik". Part of the passengers began to leave the station hastily. The entrance to the station was closed. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, firefighters of the State Fire Service were sent to the scene. As a result of the operational measures taken, the smoke source was detected and eliminated by 20.30.
In turn, "Baku Metro" reported to Turan that smoke occurred at about 20.00 in the tunnel between the stations "May 28" and Ganjlik. "For a short time, the movement of trains was stopped. Specialists of the subway found that as a result of a short circuit in the electric wires, heating occurred. Because of this, the insulating part of the wires melted, which became a source of smoke.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the ambulance station were informed about the incident.
Threats to the health of passengers was eliminated. However, several people felt bad, and they received medical care on the spot. Currently, the subway works in normal mode. -06D--
