The term of arrest of Leyla Yunus extended for another 4 months
Today the Nasimi District Court under the chairmanship of Babak Panahov reviewed the General Prosecutor Office’s requirement to extend the arrest of the human rights activist Leyla Yunus.
The lawyer Elchin Gambarov told Turan the court decided to extend the arrest of Yunus by another 4 months until 28 February 2015.
According to him, the investigation has motivated the extension of the detention with a need to conduct appropriate investigations.
In turn, the defense filed a motion to change the measure of restraint by house arrest.
According to the lawyer, Yunus still has serious health problems.
