There is not enough energy in Goranboy region for farm irrigation
At today’s press conference at the International Press Center, residents of Goranboy region spoke about injustices in their region.
Afig Iskenderli, the head of the farm "Chanlibel" complained about the head of the Reclamation System Department, Gunduz Bagirov.
According to him, local residents cannot irrigate their land where wheat is grown, but the region’s officials freely irrigate their own farms. This occurs because the artesian wells are on land owned by officials.
Residents said they are being denied a chance to meet with the head of the region’s executive power to complain. Their repeated appeals to various state agencies remain unanswered.
In response to the question of why there is not enough water, the complainants said they are told there is not an adequate energy supply.
"However, for the irrigation of lands of officials there is enough electricity, and as it comes to ordinary citizens, there is a deficit?" said Aslan Bashirov, who was disabled during the Karabakh war.
According to him, one-time watering of one hectare costs 50 manat, which is very expensive for ordinary farmers, as it is necessary to water regularly.
Residents of Geranboy region hope that a press conference will draw attention to the problem. -05C04-
