Third Humanitarian Forum Started in Baku
The Azerbaijan's capital on Thursday started the third Baku International Humanitarian Forum co-chaired by the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan.
At the opening ceremony of the two-day forum, which is held in the Heydar Aliyev Palace, President Ilham Aliyev made a keynote speech. He expressed confidence that the discussions held at the forum will contribute to the development of international humanitarian cooperation.
In his letter to the participants of the forum, President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that meaningful and useful discussions, new ideas and initiatives will find their practical implementation in real-world cases and projects that will build trust, mutual understanding and good neighborly relations between the peoples.
The agenda of the forum with 800 participants from 70 countries includes the issues of humanitarian challenges of the 21st century, taking into account the realities of globalization. Scheduled for 8 "round tables" are issues such as the convergence of technology and the shape of the future, the humanitarian aspects of economic development, multiculturalism and identity, national identity in the postmodern era, etc.
The previous two forums were held in 2010 and 2012 on the initiative of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia. -0 -

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
