Thirty-four Papers Receive 1 Million 243 Thousand Manats from State
Yesterday the State Media Support Fund under the Azerbaijani President allocated aid to the papers of the country for the second half of 2015.
Beneficiaries of the state aid are 34 newspapers, which were allocated a total of 1 million 243 thousand manats (about 1 million 185 thousand US dollars).
According to the State Fund, all the media that had applied for aid received it.
Almost all the aid went to the pro-government press.
Among the beneficiaries there was not Azadlig, the opposition newspaper published for more than 25 years and being the most authoritative and widely read in the country.
The largest amount of aid, 60,000 manats, was received by the newspapers Kaspi and Caspian, Movqe, Yeni Azerbaijan, Ses, Yeni Musavat, Palitra, Adalat, Baki Khabar, 525 Gazet and Express.
40,000 AZN was received by Hafta Ichi, Azad Azerbaijan, Sharq, Khalq Cebhesi, Football + Goal, Bizim Yol and Olaylar.
Another three newspapers received 30,000 manat: Football +, Uch Nogta and Azernews.
The remaining beneficiaries were provided from 9 to 20 thousand AZN.-03B-
