Traffic will be restricted on the day of closure of Islamic Olympic games
Baku/08.05.17/Turan: Baku Transport Agency and the Metropolitan Traffic Police announced the order of traffic on the day of the closure of the Islamic Olympic games - on May 22 at the Olympic stadium of the capital. On the afternoon on May 22, traffic will be completely stopped on Heydar Aliyev Avenue - from the Excelsior Hotel to Sabunchi. Also, traffic will be blocked on Neftchilar Avenue - from Azneft Square to Yusif Safarov Street. Spectators will be able to get to the stadium by metro and express buses. Islamic games started on May 12. They are attended by over 3000 athletes from 54 countries. Competitions are held in 21kinds of sports. -06D--

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
