On 21 July on the eve of the national press, the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan named the distinguished members of the press who were awarded honorary award named after the founder of the Azerbaijani press Hasanbay Zardabi. Among the awardees is Taptig Farhadoglu, the reporters of Turan agency and radio "Voice of America." The other awarded are: a teacher of journalism faculty of Baku State University Aynur Kerimova;

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
