Verdict on Nardaran-3 Case Declared
Baku / 06.12.17 / Turan: Today in the Baku Grave Crimes Court, the verdict on 12 defendants on the so-called Nardaran Case-3 was announced.
These people were arrested after a special operation in the village of Nardaran on November 26, 2015, when the police detained the leader of the Muslim Unity Movement Taleh Bagirzadeh and a group of his associates.
The arrested were accused of participating in a criminal community organized by Bagirzadeh. They were charged with ten articles of the Criminal Code: terrorism, illegal possession of weapons, an attempt at violent change of the constitutional order, resistance to the police, etc.
The defendants pleaded not guilty and told the court about the torture that they had been subjected to in the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Today, the court sentenced the theologian Zulfugar Mikayilov to 17 years of imprisonment, Ruzi Ismayilov and Jabir Aliyev - to 16 years each, Ramil Seifullayev and Mubariz Ibrahimov - to 15 years each, Elkhan Hasanov - to 14 years, Faig Allahverdiyev, Mehman Guliyev and Elman Agayev - to 13 years each, Ali Huseynov, Mehman Mammadov and Eldar Bunyatov - to 12 years 3 months each. -06D--

Two women have died from mushroom poisoning in the Khachmaz region, located 200 km north of Baku. According to Azar Magsudov, the head of the toxicology department at the Clinical Medical Center (CMC), the victims were 46 and 41 years old.
