Violations during the trial in the case of Yashar Jafarli
The next court trial in the case of a military expert Yashar Jafarli will be held on August 1. According to his lawyer, Avaz Temirkhan, previous meetings were held with violations and judicial investigation is biased. "The court and the prosecution demonstrated bias against the victim,” he said.
The lawyer said that the second attacker on Jafarli is hiding from the investigation, and the knife found on the second attacker, Elkhan Huseynov, was not reported or included in the list of evidence. Thus, the investigation turns away from being able to present the case as an attack of the armed group.
Despite numerous petitions on this matter at the meeting, the judge did not grant them. "Talking into account the above mentioned, it is difficult to believe that the court will pass a fair decision," said Temirkhan.
* On April 2 at half past nine pm, two officers of the Defense Ministry attacked Yashar Jafarli in front of his house, and started beating him. With the help of neighbors, Jafarli managed to detain one of them, and handed over to the police. However, police is not looking for another attacker, although his name is known.
Jafarli is convinced that he was attacked by the people of the Defense Minister, Safar Abiyev, whom he harshly criticized for corruption and shortcomings in the army. -05D-
