Vladimir Putin awarded Allahshukur Pashazade a Certificate of Honor of the Russian Federation
On Friday the Russian ambassador to Baku, Vladimir Dorokhin, awarded Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, the head of the Caucasus Muslims Department, a Certificate of Honor of the Russian Federation for special merits in development inter-confessional relations.
Ambassador Dorokhin said that Pashazade was awarded many Russian orders. The Russian diplomat noted the special role of Pashazade in creating a climate of religious tolerance in Azerbaijan. He noted good relations between the Islamic and Orthodox Christians, what cannot be said cannot be said about the relations between the Orthodox and Catholics.
Allahshukur Pashazade, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the award, said that he has been by foreign state 16 times. The most significant among the awards he called Russian ones. Pashazade said that the first diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church opened in Baku, which in itself is an indicator of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. -05C04-
