What beaches are safe for swimming?
Baku/09.06.22/Turan: Due to the beginning of the beach season, sanitary monitoring of water was carried out on the beaches of Baku and Sumgayit, the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan said in a statement.
According to the results of physicochemical and bacteriological analyzes, the quality of sea water was within the normal range on the beaches of the villages of Mardakan, Shuvelan, Bilgya, Novkhany, Buzovna, Zagulba and Nardaran.
At the same time, intense pollution was found on the beaches of Shikhovo in the Sabail region and Sahil in the Garadagh region. The levels of microbiological contamination there are higher than normal.
The monitoring also established that the beaches of Hovsan in Surakhani and Turkan in Khazar regions do not meet the requirements of current standards.
An excess of the norm of intestinal bacteria was revealed on the Sumgayit beach.
Considering that the current situation seriously threatens the health of the population, the use of the beaches of Shikhov, Sahil, Hovsan, Turkan and Pirshagi of the Sabunchu region is temporarily prohibited. -05D-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
