Next pardon is expected in the near future, said in an interview with Turan human rights activist Novella Jafaroglu, a member of the semi-official Working Group on Human Rights.
According to her, an act of mercy is to be expected during the period of Ramadan and Gurban Bayram. Among those pardoned will be the leader of the movement "Real" Ilgar Mammadov, bloggers and activists of the Popular Front Party, she said. The last act of pardon was signed by the Head of State on March 17 when 15 political prisoners were released.
According to human rights organizations, currently in Azerbaijan there are at least 80 political prisoners. It should be noted that the authorities did not confirm the information of Novella Jafaroglu.-0-
