Woman Died during Police Operation
A resident of the village of Sabirabad, Azadakend 55-year-old Hatmira Babaeva died of a heart attack after a surprise visit from the police during the night.
The police broke into the house of the woman to arrest her son Qurban, who is suspected of stealing auto parts, local sources told Turan.
In connection with the death of the mother the police were forced to release Qurban.
District Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident. Local residents have demanded punishment of the police.
The police of Sabirabad confirmed the death of Babaeva during the investigation, but for further information are advised to contact the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On Sunday the information failed. Turan agency hopes to create a complete picture of what happened today. -0-

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
