Are We Afraid of War?

The last two days after the destruction of the Armenian helicopter over Aghdam there have heightened tensions not only on the front line, but also in social networks, where there is its own virtual war between Azeris and Armenians.

The main theses of the Armenians are as follows: "We will punish you for it", "we are ready for war, and you are not", "you provoke a war," "you have violated international law" (!), and finally - "we will kick you where you do not expect that, and this will be a terrible blow."

In short, our neighbors are not original as always - they have gone into the role and they convince themselves and others that this time they will get to the Caspian, and then they will be asked not to.

Particularly excel at the same time are representatives of the Diaspora who flood Twitter with messages about the "barbarity" of Azerbaijanis, who shot down the peace helicopter, which "did not violate the border" (!).

Generally, the sincere belief of Armenians that they say holy truth, is always striking. Well, this is a topic for another conversation...

So, if we are afraid, are we ready? I have often had to contend with Armenian colleagues on this topic. So at one of the international conferences an open dispute originated with an Armenian journalist, who quite honestly said that the ordinary citizens of Azerbaijan do not want war, which is wanted by the regime of Ilham Aliyev, and that he cannot really fight, but only pretends to blackmail the West.

Such theses are sitting firmly in the minds of the Armenian society and are the basis of the official Armenian propaganda, which tirelessly assures its citizens that the Azeris are corrupt, cowardly, and they cannot and do not want to fight, and so forth.

I must admit that there is a similar problem with us, or rather it is not a problem, but a stereotype of the enemy, which is fueled by official propaganda. The main drawback of such propaganda is that it is one-sided: they all are enemies and fascists, their army collapses and their soldiers are dying of hunger.

Stereotypes are good only in propaganda, but they fail in the war. Conscious belittling the opportunities of the enemy leads to complacency.

In this regard, the Armenian propaganda works for us. The more they will convince their population that Azerbaijanis are mediocrity, the better. The helicopter has shown that we are not mediocrity, not cowards, and we know how to fight. And the stronger the psychological impact on the enemy.

However, the episode with the helicopter has another interpretation. A number of competent international experts believe that between the situation in Karabakh and in Ukraine there is a direct link.

It is no secret that Russia is preparing for a new offensive on the eastern regions of Ukraine. At this point it is necessary to divert the attention of the international community, at least partially. Something similar took place this summer.

Conspicuous Armenian military exercises in the Agdam region with 40-50 thousand military men, aircraft, armored vehicles and artillery could not help causing a reaction from Baku, especially when the enemy helicopters fly over your positions.

The attack on Donbass and Mariupol is about to start again and it will be necessary to divert the world's attention to the events in Georgia, northern Kazakhstan and Karabakh.

So it's time to give out more Arrows on the front so that the second helicopter had no time to escape, as happened on 12 November.
