Is Armenia placing stake on United States?
Baku/26.09.22/Turan: Armenian leadership's "landing" last week on Washington went under the guise of participating in the UN General Assembly. It is noteworthy that not only the Prime Minister, but also the Foreign Minister, the head of the Security Council, as well as one of the leaders of the Karabakh separatists, David Babayan, arrived in the US capital at the same time.
The first anti-Russian "salvo" was heard during Pashinyan's speech from the UN rostrum, where he actually accused Moscow of betrayal. Without naming Russia, he said that the "international partner" actually forced Yerevan to start work on the delimitation of borders with Azerbaijan, and then did not support when Baku committed "aggression", violating these very borders.
Given that the negotiations on this topic are held under the patronage and participation of Russia, it is not difficult to guess whom the criticism is addressed to.
Also, Pashinyan accused the "international partner" of not giving Armenia modern weapons and blocking the purchase of such weapons from other countries. It is also obvious here that Moscow is meant.
The above frank confessions from the UN rostrum were only the first step. Immediately after that, Pashinyan met with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg where the situation in the region and the latest clashes on the border with Azerbaijan were discussed. The meetings were also attended by the Foreign Minister and the Security Council of Armenia.
Then Pashinyan met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken where the topic of Azerbaijan's "aggression" was also discussed.
The topic of Armenia's border security was raised by Pashinyan at a meeting with Iranian President Raisi, who reiterated the well-known thesis that Tehran will not tolerate changes in the borders of its neighbors.
At the same time, the US Congress received the "Foreign Minister of Karabakh" who called on Washington to support the "just struggle" of the Armenians of Karabakh. On September 25, Babayan was received by Adam Schiff, Pelosi's deputy and an ardent critic of Azerbaijan.
Thus, under the guise of participating in the UN General Assembly, Pashinyan and his team held active negotiations with representatives of the West. Apparently, some agreements have been reached. Indirect evidence of this was the message that the head of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan remains in Washington and "will hold a number of working meetings from September 26."
It ought to be noted that Pashinyan's trip to the General Assembly was not planned earlier, and before that, the Armenian Prime Minister ignored the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand, where he was supposed to meet with Putin and Aliyev.
On October 6, Pashinyan will take part in a meeting of the European Political Community. This is another anti-Russian association created on the initiative of French President Macron. -0-

On the eve of a large-scale flood approaching Baku, a disturbing incident occurred in the village of Buzovna, where a Lada Priora car fell into the ground, literally collapsing the road beneath it. The driver miraculously remained unharmed but vowed to seek justice, promising to file an official complaint with the prosecutor’s office against Azersu OJSC, the state-owned water supply and sewerage company, often associated with deeply rooted corruption.

In a bit of historic irony, powerful oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has managed to inspire rare unity across Georgia’s cacophonous political scene twice in his life. His money and influence forged the broad-based consolidation of opposition forces that brought him to power in 2012, and now, 12 years and three electoral cycles later, a similar pattern of opposition convergence could send him packing.
