What do you remember in 2021? Economic results of the year
Baku/12.29.21/Turan: What are the economic results of 2021? The chairman of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party, economist Gubad Ibadoglu spoke about this in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to him, first of all, inflationary processes should be noted - the rise in prices. By the decision of the Tariff Council dated January 4, 2021, the retail price for fuel, water supply, and electricity. Following this, the Tariff Council raised the prices of medicines and pharmaceuticals.
“All this, of course, affected the prices for all types of goods and services. The rise in prices for imported goods also contributed to the intensification of inflationary processes in the consumer market. In general, the year passed under the pressure of inflationary processes. Naturally, the poor have suffered the most from this,” Ibadoglu said.
At the same time, he stressed that the government, instead of in the face of a sharp rise in prices, the government, instead of strengthening the implementation of social programs, on the contrary, limited them. “In particular, some categories of pensioners, mostly disabled, have lost their pensions,” said the economist.
Ibadoglu also noted that in 2021, in order to approve corporate governance standards for state institutions, the management of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding (Azərbaycan İnvestisiya Holding) was transferred to the management of SOCAR, Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC, Baku Metro ”, OJSC“ International Bank of Azerbaijan ”, OJSC Azer-Turk Bank and the State Insurance Commercial Company (Azersigorta) in the management of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding and settlement of a number of issues arising in this connection. This was a different approach from previous years.
And finally, according to the economist, another feature of the outgoing year was the creation of many funds. In particular, Karabakh Revival Fund (Qarabağ Dirçəliş Fondu Karabakh Revival Fund), YAŞAT Foundation (YASHAT Foundation - a fund to support families of the wounded and martyrs in connection with the protection of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and even the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund were created. –0—
