Almost no agriculture in agrarian Nakhchivan
The report (http://www.statistika.nmr.az/x_news/news/2014.1rub.pdf) on the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the first quarter of 2014 has been published.
According to the local State Statistics Committee, each of the 435 820 inhabitants (the state by April 1 of this year) had up to 991.4 manat or $ 1,264 of GDP. The autonomous republic has no oil sector; for comparison, the average GDP in Azerbaijan in the non-oil sector is 758.7 manat.
In the autonomous republic, with a traditional agricultural trend, the share of agro-industrial complex is 5.19 %. According to experts, it is the absence of state aid to households, which is unprofitable to farm products. Moreover, there is no one to do it, because a big part of the male population of the exclave is on earnings in Baku and regions, as well as in neighboring Turkey, Iran and Russia.
In the first place in the development of GDP is industry, which accounts for 33.8%. Most of the employed people (based on 2013) work in manufacturing – 9,898 in the private sector and 139 people in the public sector. The generation of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply employs 1,667 people - all in the public sector. The government's public utilities involve 1,187 people. Other employment is mining, with 83 people in the public sector and 43 people in the private sector. In the second place in the development of GDP is construction - 22.6%.
A high proportion of investment in the development of gross domestic product is 52.6%, as in the whole country. Retail trade turnover amounts to 199.538 million manat or 457.84 AZN per person for three months. Volume of services reaches 33.68 million manat - AZN 77.28 per person. Incomes of the population are 773.1 manat each.
External trade turnover amounts to $ 78,788,800, of which exports are $ 50.92 million and imports are $ 27.87 million. - 17D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
