In August, consumer prices fell by 0.1% - GCS
In August of this year, consumer prices in Azerbaijan declined compared to July by 0.1%, the State Statistics Committee.
Statistical observations covered all over the country, found that in the last month in relation to July, food prices fell by 0.3%, tariffs for services rendered to the population - 0.1%. For a month the prices of non-food products rose by an average of 0.1%.
In August compared to July was recorded decrease in prices for buckwheat, beef and mutton, butter, sugar, many seasonal fruits and berries.
There has been a rise in prices of rice, pasta, chicken, fish, eggs, vegetable oil, alcohol, green and black tea, etc.
In non-food products price increase was seen in the fabric, building materials, spare parts of cars, household appliances. It was also registered a decline in prices for clothing, medicine, cars, telephone.
According to the SSC, the prices for airline tickets for international airlines in August were down, and the fee study in institutions of higher education increased.
Deflation is observed in Azerbaijan since April, and has been lasting for the fifth month.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
