Insurance agents periodically mislead customers of CTP
The State Insurance Supervision Service of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan will continue to thwart attempts by companies to attract customers for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners (CTP) at the expense of gifts and other stimulants.
As reported on the day before the first National Forum of Insurance Agents Head of licensing and complaints services Mahir Abdullayev, despite warnings and draw conclusions with respect to individual members of the Bureau of compulsory insurance, there are still violations of the sale of insurance policies of the law.
Earlier it was reported that sales of new policies CTP tariffs and conditions began in Azerbaijan on December 16, 2011. Abdullayev said that immediately after the entry into force of this regulation, insurers began to organize gift campaign, implementing the policy, did not offer benefits, and real acts like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, discounts on tariffs established benefits, etc.
Insurance companies explain inconsistency initiative insurance agents offering gifts as part of their commission, but in any case it is a violation of local law.
The official said that in the region have resumed holding such gift campaigns in selling policies to CTP. He informed the audience that such actions are illegal and will be stopped by law. Currently licenses to operate in Azerbaijan as insurance agents belong to 46 businesses and 597 individuals.
According to the consultant of the licensing and complaints services Firdovsi Agashirinov, periodic complaints about the activities of insurance agents in the Ministry of Finance related to a lack of competence and a violation of ethics in dealing with customers. Insurance agents often do not explain the essence of clients entered into the insurance contract, are not familiar with the terms of the document.
