Ivanishvili: Electric energy prices for population to be reduced by 90% in Georgia
The electric energy prices for the residents consuming up to 300 kwh of power a month, which makes about 90% of population, will be reduced, Novosti-Georgia cited Georgian Premier Bidzin Ivanishvili as saying.
"The prices will be reduced by 27% for the group of consuming less than 100 kwh of power a month and by 21.5% for the group consuming less than 300 Kwh," Ivanishvili said.
At present Georgia has differentiated prices for electric energy, which depend on the region and amount of power consumed per month. Therefore, Tbilisi residents consuming between 1 to 100 kwh power a month pay 13.48 tetri ($0.081), from 101 to 300 kwh - 16 tetri ($0.096) and 301 kwh and higher - 17,697 tetri ($0.11).
"We also discuss reduction of gas prices. We will provide more information in the nearest future," Georgian Premier said.-0-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today.
