Municipalities Not to Levy Taxes in Cash
During the next six months, local municipalities will be connected to a centralized information system of mass payments (Automated payment utility service or APUS) state payment portal.
At the news briefing in the Information and Computing Center, the Deputy Director of the Department for the Payment and Settlement System of the Central Bank Vahid Gurbanli said that the local self-government needs access to a system of online-payment for services rendered. For their connection to the portal technical equipment is required and after the formation of the information systems they are ready to accept payments in real time, he said.
Recall the account of the Ministry of Taxes has implemented a pilot project on the use of electronic registration of payers of municipal taxes in eight municipalities of the country. The projects successfully tested the automated tax information system of municipalities (BVIS), allowing automation of all operations associated with the payment of municipal taxes.
The Tax Code of Azerbaijan Republic considers municipal the land tax on individuals and the tax on personal property. In addition, local governments have the right to levy a mining tax on construction materials of local importance, as well as a tax on profits of enterprises and organizations in municipal property. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
