Number of Employees Continues to Decline
As of 1 November in the economy of Azerbaijan there were 1,504.7 thousand employees on labor contracts, which is 1.6 thousand less than a month earlier, the State Statistics Committee said.
In October, the number of public sector employees increased by 800 and reached 877.9 thousand. In the private sector there was a reduction of jobs. While by October 1 the private and public enterprises and organizations employed 629.2 thousand people, in the past month the number dropped to 626.8 thousand.
The downward trend in employment in the economy by hiring has been observed since last year. By November 2014, 1 million 507.5 thousand people worked on the basis of contracts. Of these, 883.7 thousand or 58.6% belonged to the public sector. -----08D
