This year Azerbaijan Airlines hit records
This year, local airlines of Azerbaijan achieved success both in freight and passenger carriages traffic as well. It can be stated confidently that the year 2013 will be remarkable in terms of freight and passenger carriages.
Within 11 months of this year the local airlines delivered to destinations 111.600 tons (59.9%) and 1 550.1 thousand passengers (+4.2 %.) For comparison, in 2012 the volume of freight traffic reached a historic high – 82,000 tons, of which 80,000 tons were carried out according to international post. Last year the number of people who used the services of local airlines, broke the second record since 2007 – 1,599 thousand passengers.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the share of the state JSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" is 99.5 % of passenger carriages; in cargo transport almost 99% of the market belongs to the two airlines.
In the fleet there are 28 AZAL aircrafts Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and TU -154. Three of them are at the disposal of the government. It is noteworthy, that this year the company sold without any auctions six aircrafts ATR. Press secretary of the airline, Muharram Safarli told Turan, that he had no information about whom were sold planes purchased were sold in 2007-2008.
It is noteworthy that statistical report do not consider indicators of passenger airlines "Silk Way Business Aviation", which has a six-liners type Gulfstream, Boeing and ATR. 08B
