Ultra Sharp Images of TV and Movies to Come
Ultra clarity will change not only the prospect of television, but also the future of cinema. This became known after the International Telecommunications Union approved the ultrahigh-definition television standards (UHDTV).
According to "The Hollywood Reporter", the signal UHDTV can be transmitted with resolution 7680 x 4320 and contain 32 million pixels. For comparison, the frame format of HDTV at full resolution 1920 x 1080 consists of two million pixels.
Technical standards will be divided into two levels: 4K, which is currently seeking a modern cinema, and 8K, which is superior to the information capacity of the current standard HDTV up to 16 times, and very close to the resolution of the film IMAX.
The main problem of this standard is a huge volume and speed of data transmission. So, an hour of uncompressed video standard UHDTV takes about 25 terabytes. Special compression algorithms can reduce the volume up to 300 gigabytes.
Now experts have a new task - to clarify how the introduction of the new standard will affect the future of television and cinema. - 17D-
