Half of Azerbaijanis Are Internet Users
Azerbaijan in terms of broadband Internet is N 58 in the world. According to a joint report, UNESCO and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on the state of broadband Internet by the end of 2011, our country in the CIS was the third level of the penetration of fixed broadband Internet with the index 10.7%. That is, for every thousand people there are 107 people. Only Belarus and Russia are ahead.
On the level of penetration of mobile broadband, attributable to every 100 active users, Azerbaijan is also in the third position in the post-Soviet space after Russia and Kazakhstan.
According to figures from the report, last year, the Internet penetrated more than a third (39.5%) of households in Azerbaijan, a country that has provided the 22nd position among the developing countries in this segment (located next door to Kazakhstan, Turkey and Belarus).
Exactly half of the Azerbaijani population is users of the Internet connection, which is N 59 in the world and first in the CIS countries. - 17D-
