Raised prices for AI 95 and AI 98 gasoline brands
Baku/02.06.21/Turan: On June 2, a price for AI 95 gasoline increased by 20 gapiks per liter, from 1.25 manat to 1.4 manat. The price for AI 98 has increased from 1.4 manat to 1.55 manat.
However, there is not an appropriate decision of the Tariff Council on the issue. In turn, a representative of the state oil company SOCAR, Ibrahim Akhmedov told mass media that the reason for price increase is that the gasoline of above brands is imported dependent upon prices at the world market.
So, a year and a half ago, before the fall in oil prices, the price for premium gasoline was 1.5 manat. Then, when oil fell in price, the price fell to 1.2 manat. Then it increased to 1.25 manat, and now to 1.4 manats. Akhmedov explained these differences as being due to the situation at the world market.
As for Ai-92 gasoline and diesel fuel, they are produced domestically and not dependent upon imports, Akhmedov said.
In 2022, the modernization of the oil refinery in Baku will be over, so the necessary volume of AI-95 gasoline will be produced in Azerbaijan and prices for this gasoline will not depend on world prices, the representative of SOCAR said. - 02D-
