Court Sentences Murderer to Order of Telman Ismailov
Moscow / 12.03.18 / Turan: The Krasnogorsk city court of the Moscow region sentenced Mehman Kerimov to 13 years in a strict-security prison for killing the businessmen Vladimir Savkin and Yury Brylev to the order of the former owner of the Cherkizov market Telman Ismailov.
This was reported to TASS by the press service of the court on March 12.
Telman Ismailov was arrested in absentia on charges of organizing a double murder. His brother Rafik Ismailov has been detained, and a criminal investigation into him has been completed. The businessman is charged under Part 2 of Article 105 (Murder of Two or More Persons) and Article 222 (Illicit Trafficking in Weapons) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Another brother of Telman and Rafik Ismailov, a retired operative of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vaghif, is hiding from the investigation abroad.
The case of Mehman Kerimov was separated into a separate proceeding and was examined in a special order, since the defendant fully admitted the guilt, concluded a pre-trial agreement and gave evidence on the accomplices of the crime. He was convicted of killing two people and illegal possession of weapons.
According to the investigation, Telman Ismailov and his brothers ordered the murders of the owners of the Moscow-based shopping center Story Market and Lublin-Motors Company Vladimir Savkin and Yury Brylev.
The executor of the murders was Mehman Kerimov. On May 15, 2016 the entrepreneurs were shot on Novorizhskoe Highway. Rafik Ismailov took Kerimov from the crime scene.
Both suspects were detained, and Kerimov almost immediately confessed to the crime. However, he said Ismailov knew nothing, but just took him. The killer said Savkin was killed for an unpaid loan of $ 452 thousand.
The operatives came to the conclusion that the murder was committed because of a conflict between Savkin and Telman Ismailov after the sale of their own shopping and entertainment center. Not wanting to return several million dollars to his former business partner, Telman Ismailov gave his relatives $ 2 million to kill him. Rafik Ismailov found a killer from among Savkin's acquaintances and controlled the crime. Vaghif Ismailov advised the defendants and hid his brother in his apartment before he was detained.
The lawyer of Telman Ismailov earlier reported that he went abroad and he rejects accusations of organizing the murder.
Telman Ismailov was the owner of the Cherkizov market in Moscow, and his company AST owned the building of Voentorg, restaurant Prague on Novy Arbat and about 3 thousand hectares in the suburbs. A year ago, the court found Ismailov bankrupt.-02D-
