Putin answered the question when there will be peace in Ukraine
RBC: Peace will become possible when Russia achieves all the goals of the special military operation, Vladimir Putin said during the summing up of the year.
The goals of the special operation do not change, Putin emphasized, and noted that the issue of denazification of Ukraine remains relevant.
“In Ukraine, the national hero is the Nazi Bandera, and they did not agree that they were undergoing fascisation,” he emphasized.
The President also touched upon the topic of demilitarization of Ukraine, which was also stated among the goals of the special operation. According to him, Ukraine itself no longer produces “almost anything” and receives weapons from foreign countries “for free.” “But this freebie may end someday,” Putin added.
He added that since the start of the “so-called counter-offensive” (early June), Russian forces have destroyed 747 tanks and about 2 thousand armored vehicles. “This is demilitarization,” the president said.
He said that during negotiations with the Ukrainian side last spring, the parameters of demilitarization were fixed in agreements, but these agreements were then “thrown into the oven.” “There are other possibilities: either reach an agreement, or solve it by force. We will strive for this,” Putin emphasized.
